Stunned and so appreciative

Tonight I opened my email after putting the kids to bed – it was “single dad” duty tonight as Mom finally decided to head out on her own after being cooped up for the last six months with our new daughter. Needless to say as I completely blown away when a message popped up with a comment from Robert of the Radish about a mixed tape I made last summer.

Robert of the Radish is the king of the playlist. His constant output blows me away time and time again. Each mix of songs he weaves together is inspired with creativity, a dash of humour, and a love of music.

To have something I created (to be shared with a couple of friends) be acknowledged by someone miles away in this simple manner has got me excited to start making more mixtapes. I am also stoked that he made the connection to Thurston Moore‘s Mix Tape: The Art of Cassette Culture as it such a great book and one that occupies a place on my bookshelf.

Thank you Robert for taking the time to stop by. You made it so worthwhile.

Johnny, The pleasure was all mine, I really enjoyed listening to your list! I heard it 3 times yesterday and the flow was top-notch.

You made me think about how I can make my lists better. I appreciate that you shared your “In The Sun” list on the ymuplaylisters group. That’s how I found your blog.

I hope we can stay in touch and bounce ideas around. I’m flattered that you feel inspired to do more! Send me a note or post future lists on ymuplaylisters. I would love to make it a regular feature if you are interested.
